This is a dynamic, hands-on position where you will deliver lessons across a range of subjects, support young people in achieving their educational goals, and guide them through their personal development journeys.

As a key member of the team, you will actively support teaching staff in all lessons, adapting to the diverse needs of the young people and ensuring learning is engaging and accessible for everyone. You'll bring versatility to your role, teaching various subjects to meet the curriculum and individual learning plans while providing a consistent, nurturing presence to help them overcome challenges and succeed.

This role requires creativity, flexibility, and a genuine passion for supporting young people with SEN, enabling them to grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a safe and supportive environment.

Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and work with the SENCo to ensure progress toward targets.

Support the young people with qualifications in Maths and English under the direction of the subject leads and encourage the application of these skills in real-life situations.
Promote active learning through both indoor and outdoor activities.
Supporting Emotional Wellbeing

Build strong, trusting relationships with young people, helping them to develop confidence and resilience.
Provide emotional and social support to the young people, fostering a safe and inclusive environment.
Encourage positive behaviour and support students in managing challenges.
Act as a role model, promoting respect, empathy, and teamwork among the young people.
Collaboration and Communication

Work closely with teaching staff, support staff, and external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for the young people.
Communicate regularly and effectively with parents, carers, local authorities, and other stakeholders.
Provide feedback on student progress and contribute to reports as required.

Administrative and Professional Responsibilities

Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, progress, and behaviour.
Contribute to the development of curriculum and resources to enhance learning.
Participate in training, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.

What we're looking for:

GCSEs at Grade 4 or above (or equivalent), including Maths and English.
A valid UK driving licence.
A minimum of two years' experience working within an SEN setting or supporting young people with SEN.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communication for different audiences.
A proactive, flexible, and adaptable approach to working with young people.
Creativity, enthusiasm, and the ability to make learning engaging and meaningful.
