Job title: Higher level teaching assistant (HLTA) - 2 year fixed term
Salary: HLTA 1 (£31,189) - HLTA 6 (£36,752) actual salary (£26,485 -£31,209) dependant on experiance
Hours: 37 hours
Contract type: Full Time - Term time
Reporting to: Assistant Headteacher SENCO
Southend YMCA community school is seeking to appoint a HLTA for 37 hours per week (term time only), to work in our nurturing environment for our current year 10 to 12 students for a fixed term of 2 years in the first instance.
We are looking to appoint a HLTA to support the effective learning of students and support behaviour management. the sucessful candidate will beresponsible for supporting effective pastoral care to support students' social and emotional progress as well as their learning. They are also required to contribute and be involved in extracurricular activities and the wider life of the school community.
We are looking for the right person to join our team and that person must be passionate about our student's education and dedicated to teaching the hardest to reach young people in our community. The best person will have a commitment to trauma informed practice and understand the power of learning in helping young people who come to the Southend YMCA Community School, to 'come with a past, leave with a future'.
