Preschool Practitioner

Job Description

Squirrels Preschool is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, passionate, hardworking and highly motivated individual with a minimum level 3 qualification. Working hours will be Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays all day (8.45 am until 3.45pm) and Thursday mornings (8.45am until 12.45pm), during school term times only.

We are looking to recruit someone who:

· Holds a full and relevant Level 3 qualification.

· Holds a Paediatric First Aid certificate (desirable).

· Is warm and caring, contributing to an environment where both children and adults feel welcome, safe, happy and cared for.

· Is willing to be challenged and to proactively undertake Continuing Professional Development in order to be the best practitioner they can be.

· Has a detailed knowledge of the EYFS and can use this knowledge to plan and implement high quality activities that help children to achieve their next steps.

· Is able to create a stimulating learning environment where all children can achieve their highest potential.

· Has experience in the role of Key Person, carrying out observations and compiling children's Learning Journeys.

· Is able to work closely with colleagues, parents/carers and other professionals to ensure the needs of all children are met, and promote the physical, emotional, intellectual and social development of every child.

· Has a detailed knowledge of child development and is able to recognise where children may need additional support. They will be confident in reporting these concerns to the setting SENDco, working with them and any outside professionals necessary to implement strategies that support children in their development.

· Is highly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Has knowledge of safeguarding procedures, Child Protection issues and wider legislative requirements for working with children. Safeguarding training will be provided as part of the induction programme.

· Works to the setting policies and procedures at all times.
