Brentwood School is seeking to appoint a Performing Arts Administrator whose principal role is to support the School's Music, Dance and Drama Departments in the delivery of an ambitious annual programme of over 70 performance events across an academic year. They will also be responsible for the smooth operation of over 600 weekly individual music and Lamda lessons. This is a Term-Time only role. The post is for 37.5 hours per week, 35 term time weeks with 5.6 weeks of holiday.
Key responsibilities include overseeing daily administration for music and drama lessons, maintaining calendars and schedules, and acting as a liaison for both internal and external inquiries. You'll ensure instruments and equipment are in top condition, coordinate room bookings, and manage key events like concerts and examinations. This role also involves building relationships with staff, students, and parents, and handling tasks like exam entries, lesson allocations, and ensemble support.
The ideal candidate will have previous administrative experience, ideally in a music or arts environment, and demonstrate proficiency with relevant software systems. You'll be highly organised, proactive, and passionate about performing arts. An understanding of safeguarding, data protection, and professional confidentiality is essential, along with excellent communication skills and a confident, empathetic demeanor. While experience in a school setting or knowledge of systems like iSAMS and SOCS is a plus, a genuine enthusiasm for the role and a willingness to learn are key.
