We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our school. The role will be working closely with a delightful child in our Reception class as well as supporting other children in the class setting.

Larchwood has been part of the Discovery Educational Trust for ten years. The Trust consists of two secondary schools and three primary schools.

About You

. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Good standard of maths and English, both written and spoken (O Level or GCSE grade C or above)

. Should have creative ideas which can be contributed to the planning of activities

. Have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills plus be able to demonstrate high expectations of achievement for all pupils.

. Ability to work as part of a team but to act independently if required.

. Willingness to learn new skills and take on new tasks

. Must have a warm and positive approach towards all children, staff, parents and carers

. Previous experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) preferable

. Good sense of humour

Days: Monday to Friday (term time only)

Hours: 08.30am to 15.30 (30 hours)

Annual salary - £24,404 (pro rata- see below) plus £706 Outer Fringe Allowance (OFA)

In real terms: £17,454 including OFA

Contract: Fixed term until July 2025 initially, but with the possiblitiy of conitnuing as the child moves through the school.
