We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Preschool Manager.
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Preschool Manager to lead and inspire our Outstanding Pre-School. This is a term time only setting.
We're looking for a leader who goes above and beyond to ensure that every child's needs are at the heart of everything we do. As the Preschool Manager, you'll play a key role in guiding and supporting our team to deliver exceptional care and education. About our Preschool:
Springfield Bees Pre-School is a friendly charity pre-school that provides care and education in accordance with the EYFS for children aged between 2 -4 years. We have two main rooms within the setting. The Honeys Room is for children aged 2 years and up and the Bumbles room is for children in their preschool year. The setting is an Ofsted awarded 'OUTSTANDING' setting with a great community feel. Springfield Bees are based in North Chelmsford and we are looking for a new manager to continue this success.
Activities are play-based and centred around school readiness and preparing the children for the next big milestone in their development and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
To lead and inspire the team in continuing to deliver high-quality care and education with a drive for continuous professional development in early childhood education practices.
To be responsible for the day-to-day management of the setting alongside the Deputy Manager. This includes ensuring the preschool rooms adhere to staff ratios and staff deployment and completing weekly rotas for staff and registers for child attendance.
The candidate must have thorough knowledge of child development and children's needs with the ability to support and monitor children through the EYFS curriculum. With experience of working alongside families and parents to support children to learn and develop.
To support children with additional needs, preferably with previous experience in the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) role within a setting or willingness to undertake this training.
To maintain compliance with Ofsted standards, safeguarding policies as well as assuming the duties of the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL). To ensure there is appropriate and timely liaison with outside professionals where necessary.
To monitor and assess the quality of the provision to ensure best practice and standards are maintained.
The individual must demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbally and non-verbally to engage effectively with children, staff and external agencies.
To work closely with and be accountable to the Board of Trustees, providing regular updates and working collaboratively to ensure the charity's goals and vision are met.
To take responsibility for recruiting, line managing and supporting staff. Guiding and developing the staff. This will include: conducting interviews, appraisals, mentoring team members, and ensuring professional development opportunities. Safer recruitment training completion is preferable, or willingness to complete.
Maintaining accurate personnel records for all staff.
To undertake investigations and disciplinary procedures where necessary.
Ensuring all mandatory staff training is completed in a timely manner.
To ensure systems are in place for accurate reporting and monitoring with sound knowledge of data protection and information management and their application within the setting.
To ensure that all policies and procedures are in place and updated as necessary, communicating these changes to staff.
To adhere to all preschool policies and procedures and comply with the Children's Act.
To fulfil all legal and statutory requirements.
Person Specification
We are looking for a candidate with the following: Essential criteria:
NVQ Level 3 Early Years Education and Childcare qualification (or equivalent).
At least two years of leadership experience in an Early Years setting.
Desirable Criteria:
Level 4 Early Years Education and Childcare Qualification.
Experience with Ofsted inspections.
SENCo training or a willingness to complete the training.
Experience managing the performance and development of staff.
An individual who is enthusiastic, creative, approachable and organised.
Experience with safeguarding.
Additional Information
All applicants will be subject to reference checks, a DBS clearance, and other safeguarding requirements before starting the role.
The role is available immediately.
Springfield bees is committed to the safeguarding and promotion of welfare of children. The Manager will be responsible for securing the funding streams and marketing the setting so that it operates to full or near full capacity. This is a unique opportunity for the right person and will be rewarded with excellent working environment and a supportive committee.
Please note there will be a 6-month probationary period.
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, 38 weeks a year with the possibility of overtime if required.
Salary: £18 - £24 per hour, depending on experience.
Schedule: Monday -Friday. 40-hour week. Start /finish times can be Flexible for the right candidate.
