Hillside Playcare Terling is currently looking to recruit an experienced Nursery Manager to be part of our pre-school team. The provision is set within beautiful countryside and offers a wide range of outdoor learning opportunities for the children, including enrichment and Forest School learning. Our calm ethos is centred around a child led approach to teaching and learning. We are looking for a dynamic individual who will inspire children and lead our team in the delivery of excellent childcare.
We are looking for a manager who has strong leadership skills and experience, who is confident in leading and managing staff, ensuring that children's needs are met by monitoring learning opportunities that are offered and who enjoys the responsibility of the day to day running of the setting. Applicants should have experience in working in close partnership with parents, managing an established staff team and promoting the nursery along with maintaining high occupancy levels.
All applicants require at least a level 3 qualification in childcare, have a secure knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and have experience in working with children aged 2 to 4 years.
The nursery is open for 38 weeks of the year, however, applicants will be paid monthly over the course of the whole year. Holiday pay will also be paid and this will be in addition to the rate of pay featured above.
Job Duties Summary:
· Work as Nursery Manager, leading the team.
· Open/close and fully manage the setting.
· Working closely with the Deputy Manager and lead in the running of the setting as a whole.
· Work in partnership with our other site.
· To achieve and maintain high standards of care and education.
· To lead and manage the staff team including providing day-to-day guidance, supervision, mentoring, and training and support to all colleagues.
· Ensuring the records are updated and maintained at a high standard throughout the setting.
· Adhering to Health and Safety policies, maintaining risk assessments, and relevant documentation.
· Working in partnership with parents/carers to best support children's care and development.
· Liaise with external agencies to assist in obtaining advice, guidance, and intervention to support children and their families within the setting.
· To provide important information to Nursery Provider to ensure the effective operation of the business, ie, funding information, invoice information, staff hours.
