Job Title: Director of People

Location: Central Trust Offices and Trust school sites as appropriate (ability to travel to school sites is essential)

Salary: Scale 14, Points 54-58 (£71,688 - £78,868)

37hrs per week, 52 weeks per year. 27 - 30 days annual leave (depending on experience) and 8 Bank Holidays

The Chelmsford Learning Partnership is seeking to appoint an experienced Director of People to strategically develop and lead the delivery of people management across the Trust and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our HR functions.

Role Overview:As the Director of People, you will lead and manage all aspects of our Human Resources functions. You will develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that align with our Trust's vision and goals. Your role will ensure compliance with legal requirements and statutory guidance, while also enhancing the effectiveness of our HR and payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership: Operate as a key member of the MAT Central Team, contributing to the development of strategic and operational plans. Provide leadership in HR and payroll policies, ensuring statutory compliance and efficiency.
HR Support:Lead an in-house team of HR advisers, providing line management and development of the Operations manager and through them the wider HR operations team ensuring expert advice and support to all schools within the Trust. Oversee HR casework resolution and maintain strong relationships with external HR and legal advisers.
Payroll Management: To be responsible for the line management and development of the Trust Payroll Manager and through them the wider Payroll Team.
Policy Development:Design, implement, and review Trust-wide HR policies and procedures. Lead on organisational change initiatives, staff wellbeing programs, and benefits packages.
Compliance and Assurance:Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and statutory guidance. Provide assurance to the CFO and Board of Trustees on HR and payroll systems' efficiency and effectiveness.
Person Specification:

Qualifications:CIPD Level 7 qualification, with appropriate other specialist HR qualifications.
Experience:Proven track record in a senior HR role, preferably within the education sector. Experience in managing change and developing effective HR systems.
Skills:Strong leadership and management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a commitment to equal opportunities and partnership working.

Information about the School

The Chelmsford Learning Partnership (CLP) is an emerging multi-academy trust based in Springfield, Chelmsford. The trust was formerly known as The Boswells Academy Trust but changed name in late 2017 to reflect the growth of the trust beyond one school. There are currently 8 schools across Essex in the CLP multi academy trust.

The schools in the CLP are: Barnes Farm Primary School, Lakelands Primary School, Perryfields Infant School, Roding Valley High School, The Beaulieu Park School, The Boswells School, The Tyrrells Primary School and William de Ferrers School.
