Summer 2025
Dear Colleague,
We are delighted that you are considering coming to join our team. As you apply for our post, we encourage you to contact us to arrange an informal conversation with me or our Deputy Headteacher - this can be during a visit to our school, by telephone or through Teams. We also suggest that you visit our website. You are welcome to contact me, directly, via head.stosyth@dcvst.org .
All our team work together to help children develop well in every way. This is reflected in all sorts of things including:
Strong academic progress because many children make very good progress from their starting points.
An exciting curriculum which offers children great learning opportunities in and out of school. These opportunities include two different residential trips, local trips to Colchester Zoo and Castle and themed days in school such as for The Stone Age.
Our children's strong development in PE, supported by our Sports Lead. Our Sports Lead also leads on our Forest Schools provision.
The work of our pupil groups - School Council, Play Leaders, Prefects, Worship Leaders and Team Captains.
We are seeking to appoint a colleague to come and join our friendly team and inspire our children. Early Careers Teachers (ECT) and experienced teachers are equally encouraged to apply. We provide all teachers with effective opportunities for professional development. If you come and join our team you will be joining one that works hard for the good of all our children and one that enjoys plenty of laughs, free tea and coffee, chocolates and 'chippy Fridays'!
This post is for a September 2025 start and will be in Reception, for at least the first year. Salary will be paid according to appropriate experience and qualifications. If you are an ECT we will provide you with good support as you start doing the best job in the world. If you're more experienced, then please talk to us about subject leadership and support and development opportunities we can offer you.
We have a rural/coastal location about twenty minutes from Colchester and ten minutes from Clacton-on-Sea. We are an academy with the Diocese of Chelmsford Vine Schools Trust and so have the support of the trust and of the diocese.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of our children and all staff share this commitment. This post will be subject to an enhanced DBS Disclosure, suitable references and a pre-employment medical check.
Closing date: 02/05/2025
Interview date: 09/05/2025
We look forward to hearing from you.
Best Regards,
Mr M Carter-Tufnell
