Are you an ambitious and passionate educator looking to step into a leadership role? Do you have the drive to support and guide students through their secondary school journey?

Brentwood County High School, part of Osborne Co-operative Academy Trust, is looking for a dedicated Head of Year to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape young lives and make a real impact within a supportive and forward-thinking school community.

Your Role

As Head of Year, you will be at the heart of our students' academic and personal development, ensuring they receive the highest levels of pastoral support while maintaining a strong focus on achievement. You will oversee the well-being and progress of an entire year group, creating a culture of aspiration, engagement, and respect. This includes monitoring student attainment and behaviour, implementing intervention strategies where needed, and working closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to remove barriers to learning.

You will lead and manage a team of tutors, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of a structured and engaging tutor programme. By setting high expectations for attendance, behaviour, and academic success, you will play a crucial role in driving whole-school improvement. As a visible and approachable leader, you will build strong relationships with students, acting as their advocate and mentor while ensuring they develop the skills and resilience needed for future success.
