Role:Learning Support Assistant

Contract:Part Time Permanent

Working Weeks: 39 working weeks (term time plus 5 inset days)

Hours:26 hours and 24 minutes

Salary:Scale 3 Points 5 - 6. Actual salary £15,319-15,523 pa

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, caring and energetic person to join our Learning Support Faculty. The team are dedicated, positive and friendly. You should be approachable, patient and understanding to support identified students with special educational needs and/or disabilities to enable them to access the curriculum. You will Many of our Learning support assistants have had the opportunity to progress into Teaching with our Teacher Training schemes.

Duties involved:

Promote positive pupil behaviour in line with school policies and help keep pupils on task
Interact with, and support pupils, according to individual needs and skills
Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher, adjusting activities according to pupils' responses as appropriate

Good organisational skills
English and Mathematics (at least GCSE grade 4 or equivalent) Good general standard of education - GCSEs or equivalent and A Levels or equivalent.

Information about the School

The Boswells School is a large 11-18 secondary school that serves the area of north Chelmsford. The school is an extremely popular, over-subscribed convertor academy that enjoys an excellent reputation in the local and wider community. We were graded ‘Good’ in every area by OFSTED in February 2017 and are working towards our goal of becoming a truly great school.
