Job Title: Qualified Teacher of SEND (you do not need SEND experience, but be willing to learn, have fun and be creative). ECT will be considered.

Location: Treetops Learning Community

Pay: Subject to qualifications and experience plus SEN Allowance

Required: September 2025

Treetops Learning Community is excited to offer an opportunity for a qualified teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will work across the Trust, in Treetops School and Treetops Free School.

Treetops School was again judged outstanding in February 2020, while Treetops Free School, which officially opened in September 2022, was judged Good in its first Ofsted inspection in March 2024.

Students throughout Treetops Learning Community have complex needs varying from moderate to severe learning difficulties, which may include; speech and communication difficulties, autism and global developmental delay.

Job Purpose: To provide high-quality teaching and learning experiences for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), ensuring their individual needs are met and they are given every opportunity to exceed their perceived potential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching and Learning:

a. Plan and deliver meaningful, creative, and engaging lessons adapted to the diverse needs of SEND learners.

b. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learner engagement and participation.

c. Utilise a variety of teaching methods and resources to meet the needs of all learners within their lessons understanding that one size does not fit all

d. To plan lessons that promote active learning, where skills and knowledge are gained and applied to real life contexts in line with our curriculum

2. Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs):

a. Develop, implement, and review EHCPs in collaboration with parents, carers, and other professionals.

b. Monitor and assess learner progress against EHCP targets, making adjustments as necessary.

c. Ensure EHCPs are up-to-date and reflect the current needs and aspirations of each learner.

d. To incorporate provision stated in the EHCP into practice

e. To work closely with the pathway leader to develop and review EHCPs for learners, ensuring that outcomes of learners within the class are SMART

3. Assessment:

a. To ensure that all assessment information is completed to track learner progress and identify areas for improvement Including behaviour information, EHCP outcomes, Evidence for Learning, Phonics, Flight Paths

b. To use assessment information to plan interventions to improve outcomes for learners in your class, including monitoring and oversight of Evidence for Learning including evidence capturing

c. Provide constructive feedback to learners and parents/carers.

4. Leading a Team of Staff:

a. Lead and manage a team of teaching assistants and support staff.

b. Provide guidance, training, and support to staff to ensure effective delivery of SEND provision.

c. Foster a collaborative and positive working environment.

d. Conduct appraisals for relevant staff in the team

5. Curriculum Development:

a. Contribute to the development and adaptation of the school curriculum to meet the needs of SEND learners linked to pathways

b. Ensure the curriculum is accessible, relevant, and engaging for all learners including planning educational visits

c. Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.

d. To attend all CPD and apply approaches within the curriculum

6. Adapting Learning:

a. Adapt learning activities and materials to cater to individual learner needs.

b. Use assistive technology and resources to support learning.

c. Continuously evaluate and adapt teaching methods to improve outcomes for SEND learners.

7. Collaborating with All Stakeholders:

a. Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to support learner development.

b. Attend and contribute to multi-agency meetings and reviews.

c. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure a cohesive approach to SEND provision.

Qualifications and Experience:

· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

· Strong communication and organisational skills.

· You do not need SEND experience for this role. You will need to have willingness to learn!

This role is for a teacher of SEND. You may be required to work across pathways and age ranges.
