Shenfield St Mary's CE Primary School is a thriving two form entry primary school where we aim to unlock every child's potential as a unique child of God. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our enthusiastic team and help us continue to make a difference in the lives of our children.

Role Overview:

As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, working with class teachers, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teaching and learning across a range of subjects and year groups.
  • Assisting with the planning and preparation of lessons and resources.
  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Providing support for pupils' emotional well-being and personal development.

Essential Criteria:

  • HLTA qualification/experience or equivalent (or willingness to work towards).
  • Experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant in a primary school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of primary school curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Ability to support pupils' with diverse learning needs, including SEND.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good understanding of child development and behaviour management strategies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of safeguarding practices in schools.
  • A positive, professional, and proactive attitude towards supporting pupils' learning.
  • Have a clear vision and strong commitment to a Christian education
