PAY SCALE: 6 pt. 13 - 17

Shenfield St Mary's CE Primary School is a thriving two form entry primary school where we aim to unlock every child's potential as a unique child of God. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our enthusiastic team and help us continue to make a difference in the lives of our children.
Shenfield St Mary's is a popular over-subscribed school, and has a strong community, many of whom have attended and supported the school for generations. We were recently inspected in March 2023 and continue to be an Outstanding school 'where every pupil has the chance to shine' [Ofsted March 2023]. Role Overview:
As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant, working with class teachers, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting teaching and learning across a range of subjects and year groups.
- Assisting with the planning and preparation of lessons and resources.
- Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
- Providing support for pupils' emotional well-being and personal development.
Essential Criteria:
- HLTA qualification/experience or equivalent (or willingness to work towards).
- Experience of working as a Learning Support Assistant in a primary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of primary school curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
- Ability to support pupils' with diverse learning needs, including SEND.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of child development and behaviour management strategies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of safeguarding practices in schools.
- A positive, professional, and proactive attitude towards supporting pupils' learning.
- Have a clear vision and strong commitment to a Christian education
