We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our school. The role will be working closely with a child in Reception with special educational needs.

Larchwood Primary School is a highly successful and popular two-form entry primary school located in Pilgrim's Hatch, Brentwood. Our mission statement is all about 'Achievement and Enjoyment'. Our children are fab! They are well behaved, enjoy coming to school and are ready and willing to learn, leaving Larchwood ready for secondary school. Larchwood has been part of the academy trust for nine years. The Trust is expanding, currently consisting of two secondary schools and two primary schools.

About You

. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes: Good standard of maths and English, both written and spoken (O Level or GCSE grade C or above)

. Should have creative ideas which can be contributed to the planning of activities

. Have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills plus be able to demonstrate high expectations of achievement for all pupils.

. Ability to work as part of a team but to act independently if required.

. Willingness to learn new skills and take on new tasks

. Must have a warm and positive approach towards all children, staff, parents and carers

. Previous experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) preferable

. Good sense of humour

Days: Monday to Friday (term time only)

Hours: 8:30am to 12:00pm (17.5 hours)

Annual salary - £21,189 (pro rata- see below) plus £663 Outer Fringe Allowance (OFA)

In real terms: £8,860.62 including OFA

Contract: Fixed term while the child attends Larchwood.
