Full-time Caretaker - Briscoe Primary School & Nursery, Basildon
Hours: 37 hours per week, all year-round contract. Please note that holiday leave is to be taken during school closure periods.
Start date: asap
Band: 2
Salary: £24,733 - £25,496 including fringe allowance. Salary negotiable depending on skills and experience.
Preferred shift pattern: 10.30 - 18.30, Monday to Friday with additional evening / weekend hours depending on the needs of the school. This can be negotiated for the right candidate with shortlisted applicants at interview.

Briscoe Primary School and Nursery are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable Caretaker for our friendly school that has children at its heart. The successful applicant will be supported by senior staff in keeping our school buildings and grounds safe, smart, compliant and fit for providing a high-quality education for our pupils.
Duties will include:
Opening and closing of school site
- Key holding
- Liaising with contractors
- Carry out routine tests to meet legal compliance i.e. testing of water temperatures, fire extinguishers etc
- Minor repairs to equipment and buildings
- Preparing the school premises and site for out of school activities.
- Replenishing stock
- Manual handling of deliveries, checking them off and reporting any shortfall
- Decorating
- Litter picking
- Cleaning
- Keeping the outside area tidy including sweeping and minor gardening
