NEW POST - Student Welfare Manager

Band 4W (£22,937 - £29,558 per annum - pro-rata)

37 hours per week - Term time plus Inset and 2 weeks holiday working

St Helena School is a highly regarded 11-16 co-educational Academy, awarded Good by Ofsted this year. Under new direction, the school has ambitious goals for high standards, and requires like-minded colleagues to join our team. Located on 17 acres, in a quiet part of historic Colchester, the school has a fine blend of traditional and modern facilities, boasting a £2.5 million new Science and Technology block for 2015/16.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Pastoral practitioner to join our outstanding pastoral and student support team. This is a senior management position, reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, and is responsible for the team of staff attached to the Student Welfare Team to ensure the effective and efficient running of all student welfare areas, procedures and processes. This role will also work with the responsible Assistant Headteacher to contribute to the maintenance of high standards and improvements in respect of student welfare.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and a strong understanding of Pastoral care and support, be a strong leader, motivator and decision-maker and have a passion for the care and support of our young people.
