Role:Exam Invigilator

Contract:Casual Zero hour Contract

Hours:Part time to be agreed

Salary:£12.45 per hour (exc. Holiday pay)

Closing Date:11/12/2024 at 12pm Midday

Job Purpose

We are looking for a Exam Invigilator who can ensure that examinations are conducted according to the regulations to:

ensure all candidates have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their abilities
ensure the security of the examination materials before, during and after the examination
prevent possible candidate malpractice
prevent possible administrative failure


General

Experience of invigilation is not required as training in the role and duties of an invigilator will be provided

Invigilators are required to:

declare if they have invigilated previously and whether they have any current maladministration/malpractice sanctions applied to them
confirm their availability in advance of main examination periods
Invigilators must confirm the confidentiality and security requirements surrounding the invigilation process are known, understood and will be followed at all times

An ideal candidate will:

be reliable, flexible and readily available during main examination periods
have effective communication skills and good interpersonal skills
work well as part of a team
be confident and a reassuring presence to candidates in examination rooms
be able to give instructions and manage situations involving different groups of people
have basic IT skills (familiar with use of email, mobile phone messaging etc.)
seek to achieve competence in the role and a rigorous understanding of the JCQ regulations
To participate in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities in discussion with line manager.
To comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role, for health & safety in the workplace
Ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with the School's Equal Opportunities Policy

Information about the School

The Beaulieu Park School is Essex’s first ‘All Through’ school and the primary phase opens for reception students in September 2018 with the secondary phase opening in September 2019. The Beaulieu Park School will welcome its first cohort of 60 reception aged children in two classes. In September 2019, 180 Year 7 students will be admitted. Year on year the school will grow, providing 420 places for local children between four and eleven years old by 2024 and 900 places for local children between 11 and 16 years old by 2023.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
