We are looking for an energetic, patient and empathetic HLTA or LSA to join us as a Behaviour Mentor. This role will involve working with pupils attending The Atrium. Working with a supportive team of Senior Teachers and Behaviour Mentors.

What we do

The Atrium is an SEMH Enhanced Provision. We work with parents and carers, mainstream schools and outside agencies to build a team of support around our pupils.

Together we work towards pupils' reintegration back into a fulltime, mainstream setting or SEMH specialist school. We adopt a therapeutic approach to supporting pupils and our practice is informed by the latest trauma informed research.

The role and candidate

We are looking for someone who is caring, creative, resilient, and able to build morale in sometimes very challenging circumstances. This is an opportunity to join a great team and change outcomes for young vulnerable people, their families and the wider community.

A typical week would involve: planning activities as part of a team, 1:1 academic support, joining in and leading small group activities, working with specialist teachers to develop supportive strategies and lots of supportive learning and play. A love of reading, creativity and great sense of humour is essential.

If you are passionate about making a difference to the most vulnerable pupils in our community, can think creatively and build positive and trusting relationships then we would love to hear from you.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the criteria within the person specification to be considered for this position. There are excellent opportunities for training and after the first year you will become a licenced Thrive trained practitioner.

An informal discussion or visit can be scheduled ahead of application. Please contact Graham Head, Head of Enhanced Provision: g.head@heartsacademy.uk
