Downham Primary School, working in partnership with Berlesduna Academy Trust, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant / Midday Assistant to join the team as soon as possible.
The position is for 30 hours per week from 8.45am to 3.15pm (including a 30 minute break) Monday to Friday, term time only for 38 weeks per year.
The position also includes a Midday Assistant role working for 30 minutes per day during lunchtime, Monday to Friday.
LSA Salary Scale 3, Point 5 (Range 5-6). Actual Salary £16,807 per annum (including paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods).
MDA Salary Scale 2, Point 3 (Range 3-4) Actual Salary £1,357 per annum (including paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods).

We are looking to appoint an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to support children 1:1, delivering activities and interventions as required under the direction of the class Teacher and SENDCo/Head of Inclusion.
The ideal candidates will:
· have, or be willing to undertake, a Level 2 qualification in Understanding Autism (AET)
· be qualified to NVQ Level 2 or above and have achieved CGSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above
· have experience of supporting children to regulate emotions
· work well as part of a team, taking advice and guidance from colleagues and other professionals
· communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff
