Due to an increase in student numbers, we are looking to recruit an encouraging and committed Teaching Assistant who shares the drive and passion necessary to ensure every student achieves their potential. Working in partnership with class teachers and the pastoral team, you will be a champion for SEN students.
The appointed Teaching Assistants will begin their BA career at the Lower academy.
Salary Range: Band 3 FTE£26,182 - £28,440. Actual starting salary £22,456 with performance based yearly increments.
Working weeks: 39 weeks (Term Time) and Parent/Open evening as required
Working Hours: 37 hours per week (08:00-16:00 Mon-Thurs and 08:00 - 15:30 Fri).
Part Time Hours Considered (minimum 25 hours over 5 days)
We are two aspirational and ambitious Academies based in Essex, just 35 minutes from London. The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our students aged 11-14 whilst the Upper Academy specialises in our 14-19 year cohorts. The Academies are approximately 1 mile apart.
The appointed Teaching Assistants will begin their BA career at the Academy best suited to their experience and skill set.
We are dedicated to supporting staff to build a fulfilling career. As a new member of staff you will be offeredexcellent support and development, with routes into teacher training offered to candidates looking to pursue a teaching career.
The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills to able to establish positive relationships with both students and teaching staff. Knowledge of SEN and previous work experience in a primary or secondary school setting is desired but not essential.
To be considered for the post you must:
· Have 5 GCSE Grade C or above (or equivelent) including English and Mathematics
· Be able to evidencethe ability to work independently, using own initiative and be able to make decisions confidently
· Have a patient, encouraging and resilient demeanour
· have excellent interpersonal skills with clear and concise communication
