Salary Range: Band 3 FTE £27,472 - £29370. Actual starting salary £23,290 with performance based yearly increments

Working Hours/Weeks: 35 hours per week, 41 Weeks (Term time plus 2 weeks)

We are looking to appoint a Data Assistant to join our Upper Academy.

The purpose of the Data Assistant is to accurately input data into internal systems with a high level of attention to detail.

You will create and deliver reports as required in areas relating toattendance, behaviour, and attainment, workclosely with wider teams to ensureintegrity ofdata, and ensurethat the information derived from the data is accurate, informative, and timely.

Responsibilities include:

  • Accurately input student, staff, and school data into the MIS System (Bromcom)
  • Maintain and update student records, including admissions, attendance, behaviour assessment and personal details.
  • To support staff leading behaviour, attendance and attainment strategies as required in a timely manner.
  • Generate reports for SLT, Year Leads, Pastoral teams, and Teachers.
  • To operate and maintain appropriate databases and spreadsheets.
  • Support timetabling and class allocation.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance when handling sensitive personal data.
  • To provide attendance and examination results information for applications for job references for previous students.
  • To assist with the Examination administration as directed by the Data Manager/Assistant Data Manager.
  • To collate and distribute internal & external exam results to students.
  • To print id cards for staff and pupils.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff in data input and retrieval from the MIS system.


The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Excellent numeracy/literacy skills - equivalent to Level 2 in English & Maths
  • Excellent ICT skills, including databases, spreadsheets and relevant software
  • Ability to work on own initiative and resolve issues independently
  • High attention to detail
