Nursery SENCO

Scale 7 Points 8-11

£9,952 per annum pro rata

12 hours per week x 51.5 weeks per year

The nursery setting is open to children for 45 weeks per year

Thursdays and Fridays from 9am to 3.30pm with 30 minutes lunch break

We are recruiting for an experienced SENCO to ensure the smooth running of our beautiful nursery at St Clare's Catholic Primary School. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a wonderfully resourced, high quality setting.

The purpose-built nursery, which opened September 2021, caters for 30 children aged 2-4. We are offering wrap around care with a breakfast club and after school club all year round.

The Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) will be responsible for the day to day operation of the setting's Special Educational Needs or Inclusion Policy to ensure that children with Special Educational Needs are fully included into the early years setting.

The SENCO has responsibility for:

· ensuring liaison with parents and other professionals in respect of children with special educational needs (SEN)

· advising and supporting other practitioners in the setting

· ensuring that Individual Education Plans are in place

· ensuring that relevant background information about individual children with special educational needs is collected, recorded and updated

· making applications to the Early Years Inclusion Panel (EYIP) about individual children with more complex special educational needs
