We are seeking an inspirational, professional, and dynamic individual to join our team as the Trust Safeguarding and Attendance Lead. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and attendance across our family of schools.

About the Role
The purpose of this role is to lead on the delivery of exceptional safeguarding and attendance practices across the Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about school improvement and thrives on being actively involved across both primary and secondary phases. You will need to be a high-performing, impact-driven individual with proven results. This significant role requires an unrelenting focus on ensuring that safeguarding and attendance are exemplary. This post would suit an experienced senior leader, trust leader or a local authority safeguarding/attendance lead with recent secondary school experience. This is a full-time position and involves travel across our trust schools.

The Chelmsford Learning Partnership is a successful and established multi-academy trust based in Essex. We are a cross-phase trust with 9 schools. Two more schools are due to join the trust this academic year.

Key Responsibilities
Champion safeguarding and attendance: lead on all aspects of safeguarding and attendance, and promote the welfare of children and young people across primary and secondary phases.
Strategic oversight: develop and implement CLP policies, practices, and provisions for safeguarding and attendance.
Effective safeguarding: working with our schools, ensure that there is an open and positive culture of safeguarding across the trust.
Improving attendance: working with our schools, develop and implement evidence-based intervention strategies leading to improved attendance in our schools.
Training and support: lead CPD and training sessions, and provide guidance and support to staff dealing with child protection and attendance concerns.
Data analysis: monitor attendance data, diagnose issues and report to key stakeholders including trustees.
Quality assurance: conduct regular safeguarding and attendance audits, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
Networking: represent CLP at professional networking meetings and lead safeguarding and attendance networks across the trust.
Qualifications and Skills
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Exceptional educational leadership experience with a proven track record, ideally within multiple settings.
Successful experience in a safeguarding role (DSL, DDSL, etc.) and leading strategies that promote student welfare.
Experience in leading/managing attendance in a secondary school and implementing effective intervention strategies.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.
Ability to analyse data, diagnose issues, and deliver high-quality training and development programmes.
Our Ideal Candidate
You will have a professional teaching qualification and significant recent leadership experience within the secondary phase. You will have up-to-date and in-depth knowledge of factors affecting safeguarding and attendance. Through this, you will ensure the successful implementation of effective strategies to further strengthen safeguarding and improve attendance across our family of schools.

Information about the School

The Chelmsford Learning Partnership (CLP) is an emerging multi-academy trust based in Springfield, Chelmsford. The trust was formerly known as The Boswells Academy Trust but changed name in late 2017 to reflect the growth of the trust beyond one school. There are currently 8 schools across Essex in the CLP multi academy trust.

The schools in the CLP are: Barnes Farm Primary School, Lakelands Primary School, Perryfields Infant School, Roding Valley High School, The Beaulieu Park School, The Boswells School, The Tyrrells Primary School and William de Ferrers School.
