SEND TEACHER 1:1
Churchgate Primary School is looking to recruit a highly motivated SEND Teacher to work on a 1:1 basis with a child in key stage 1.
The role offers the chance to support the child throughout their Primary Education and really make a difference to their school life. The child needs support with communication and social aspects of school life alongside being supported to access the provision in the classroom.
This SEND 1 to 1 Teaching job:
This role will be based inside and outside the classroom supporting the child on a 1:1 basis.
Liaising with the class teacher and SENCO about EHCP's, One Plans and implementing and reviewing agreed strategies.
Developing effective communication with the child alongside communicating their needs.
Assisting the child in class, helping them to focus and stay on task.
Assisting the child at lunch time and break time.
Supporting the child in the classroom and around the school.
Creating and building a calming and healthy relationship to instil trust.
Providing a supportive, caring, and safe relationship with the child and acting as a positive role model for them.
Building and maintaining relationships with the wider family to encourage further learning and development at home.
The ideal SEN Teacher will be/have;
· Qualified Teacher Status or Degree with SEND teaching experience
· In depth knowledge of the curriculum from EYFS.
· Experience working with SEND children, with experience of working with KS1 children.
· Experience working on a 1:1 basis.
· A commitment to delivering high quality teaching and learning.
· Enthusiasm, energy and flexibility, high expectations and the ability to raise attainment and achievement.
· Strong interpersonal and organisational skills.
· The desire to form a trusting and lasting relationship with the pupil as ideally, you will support the pupil throughout their Primary Education.
