Salary: Thurrock Band C Point 13-19

(£21,496.16 - £24,790.55 per annum)

35 hours per week

8:30am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break

37 weeks of the year - term time only

Are you looking for a new and rewarding role in education? A new opportunity has arisen, for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our successful and collaborative team at Thameside Primary School to assist with student welfare and improve educational outcomes in our SEND and Nurture Provision.

The successful candidate will be keen to make a difference to the life chances of the children at Thameside Primary School, and will be part of the school's commitment to ensure all students reach their academic potential.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate patience and show a commitment to supporting children with SEND to improve educational outcomes. This role would be suited to someone enthusiastic, personable, empathetic and able to communicate effectively, whilst maintaining a calm and professional manner, under pressure. The successful candidate will be able to:

· Support and liaise with the special educational needs and disabilities co-ordinator (SENDCO).

· Have oversight of the school's provision for pupils with SEND.

· Work in line with statutory safeguarding guidance (e.g. KCSIE, PREVENT) and our safeguarding and child protection policies.

· Work with the designated safeguarding lead (DSL) to promote the best interests of pupils, including sharing concerns where necessary.

· Promote the safeguarding of all pupils in the SEND provision.

· Establish and maintain positive working relationships.

· Ensure the personal care of pupils.

· Work creatively and in the best interest of our children and families.

· Develop and use a well-established range of strategies for coping with challenging situations.

You will work in partnership with class teachers, to support learning in line with the National Curriculum and Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, codes of practice, school policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will preferably have relevant NVQ qualifications or equivalent. They must have a good standard of English and Mathematics and basic computer skills.
