Due to an increasing number of pupils, and an expanding sports programme, Mayflower Primary School in Harwich, is eagerly seeking to appoint a Higher Level teaching Assistant who has an interest in sports. This role will be for a minimum of 32.5 hours per week, term time and will commence in September 2024. Initially this is a fixed year contract, with potential to go beyond.


The post will involve working under the direction of the PE lead, deputy and headteacher.


The ideal candidate will:


have at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English
have an HLTA qualification, or equivalent
have some form of sporting qualification, preferably
have experience of working with children
have a good understanding of how children learn
have outstanding behaviour management strategies
be flexible and able to use their own initiative
be able to work as part of a team
have excellent communication skills
be energetic, enthusiastic and have a passion for supporting children with their learning
have a sense of humour
And MUST have a driving licence and be willing to drive our minibus (training provided)
