Job Title: SSP Active Schools Co-ordinator
Working Hours: 8am - 4pm
Hours per week: 15 hours per week, term time only. Actual working days to be agreed
Contract: Fixed term until August 2026
Salary: Essex LG Scale 6 Points 13 - 17 depending on experience
Actual Salary: £9,788 - £10,448 per annum

Following a successful grant application, our School Sports Partnership (SSP) has been awarded funding to deliver an Active Schools project to selected primary schools within the Castle Point & Rochford borough. The role will entail supporting the Partnership Development Manager (PDM) to lead the co-ordination and delivery of the project which aims to increase and embed physical activity into the school day for both staff and students.

The role involves visiting schools, promoting the project , collating data and responses from surveys to help design frameworks that schools can use to improve levels of physical activity. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning and implementation of interventions within the school and be involved in training school staff. Ongoing monitoring of the project will be required to evaluate its effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will therefore have:
- experience of sport/ extra curricular activities and the associated benefits
- excellent verbal & written communication skills
- an ability to manage their own time efficiently and effectively
- a strong attention to detail with a working knowledge of online survey platforms

You will be based at The Deanes Sports Centre but travel to the primary schools is required, therefore you will need a driving licence and transport. These travel expenses will be paid in addition to your salary.

There may also be the possibility of additional hours co-ordinating other programmes once this project is operational.
