Inclusion Leader (0.4FTE or 0.6FTE)

Grade: Main pay scale up to UPS + TLR 2a

Working Hours: 2 or 3 days per week (days to be discussed at interview). If 3 days, the extra day would be a teaching responsibility.

Job Role: Provide leadership, support and direction for Inclusion, ensuring pupil achievement and progression through effective inclusion for all pupils.

Other Responsibilities: SENDCO, Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead & Designated Teacher for LAC, EAL, Pupil Premium and vulnerable pupils.

Responsible to: The Headteacher

Job Purpose: To promote and inspire excellence in learning, assessment and quality first teaching for pupils with SEND and vulnerable pupils.

To work directly with children and teachers to develop and support SEND in practice.

Provide mentoring, coaching and guidance to support teaching staff to deliver consistently good or outstanding learning, assessment and quality first teaching.

To be an integral part of the SLT and Inclusion Team in raising standards of learning, assessment and teaching.

To research best practice and develop own skills to support and sustain excellence in learning, assessment and teaching.

We are looking for a person who:

· Places children and their welfare at the center of everything they do.

· Has a thorough understanding of safeguarding and how to ensure that children are kept safe.

· Has a proven track record as an exemplary primary school teacher.

· Preferably holds the National Award for SEN Co-ordination (and, if not, be prepared to undertake the NPQ SEN qualification).

· Can demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of the current SEN Code of Practice.

· Has a clear understanding of provision mapping, early identification of children with SEN, assessment tools and successful interventions to drive progress.

· Has the skills to effectively liaise with staff, parents and external agencies to co-ordinate and ensure continuity of provision.

· Can work as a team and has excellent interpersonal skills.

· Is willing to go the 'extra mile' to support our children to flourish.
