1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (within the schools Nursery Provision)

Salary:Scale 4 (Point 7 to 8) FTE £24,294 - £24,702

Actual:£5488.30 to £5580.47 pa (includes 5.7 weeks paid holiday)

Contract Type:12 month Fixed Term

Hours:8:45am to 12pm - 3.25hrs a day - 9.75 hours a week.

39 Working Weeks:38 term time weeks plus 5 INSET days.

Start Date:01/09/2024 (to 31/08/2025)

Lexden Primary School & Nursery is looking to appoint a dedicated, enthusiastic, and caring special education needs learning support assistant (SEN LSA) to start in September 2024.

The role will be supporting a pupil 1:1 with physical needs. Support and training will be provided.

To be considered for this role candidates must:

Be qualified to a Level 3 in Early Years and Childcare

Hold GCSEs in both Maths and English, grades A-C (or equivalent)

Have a strong understanding of EYFS

Previous experience would be an advantage.

It is also desirable, but not essential, for the candidate to have British Sign Language Level 1.

Suitable applicants will need to be able to work as part of a team following a structured programme of learning. Applicants should be organised and show initiative and flexibility, be patient and understand the confidential nature of this role.

The Nursery has places for 26 part-time pupils and they are involved in the social life of the school, helping them experience a very successful transition to our reception class in the mainstream school.The enhanced provision has 18 places and caters for pupils who are severe/profoundly deaf from across the whole of North East Essex.
