FULL TIME - 35HOURS PER WEEK

Mon 7.50am-4.30pm, Tues 8am-4.30pm, Weds 8.50am-4.30pm, Thurs 8.50am-4.30pm, Fri 8.50am- 4.30pm

Please note our jobs are not term time, we are open ALL YEAR.

Applicants should ideally have some of the below

  • Experience working with children in an early years setting
  • Experience supporting children with autism or additional educational needs
  • A psychology degree
  • An early years NVQ level 3 to 6 or a childcare degree

As a new behaviour therapist, you will be trained to provide 1:1 therapy sessions for pre-school age children with additional educational needs in our specifically designed therapy centre. Your training will be provided by our in-house Board-Certified Behaviour Analysts, Occupational Therapist and Speech and Language Therapist. During your time with us you will be supported to complete the Registered Behaviour Technician Training and become anRBT.

The Ark Centre will provide you with the skills to be able to update children's individual therapy programmes, provide parent support and train other agencies involved with your key child. Our centre is a very fast paced, lively environment full of play, laughter and excitement.

The Ark Centre operates as a pre-school with a 1:1 adult to child ratio for those who may not suit being in a mainstream setting. Each child is given the time and support to develop at their own pace. Each session incorporates the EYFS, themed planning, group music and activities and lots of play.

We have a purpose-built space with 2 playrooms, a full therapy gym with ball pool and swings and a sensory garden. The team at The Ark Centre work closely with the children's parents to ensure their new skills are being used in their home and that we can support them to get ready for school.

For those looking for a future career path The Ark Centre is able to support team members with a degree to complete their masters in Applied Behaviour Analysis and the supervision required to continue to become a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst.

Information about the School

The Ark Centre is a small specialist pre-school setting in Springfield, Chelmsford. We provide 1:1 support for children with developmental delays, social communication disorders and autism.
Each child has behaviour therapy, occupational therapy and speech and language therapy.

We run 2 sessions a day 9-12AM or 1-4PM. Each session has a maximum of 6 children in it.

All appointments are subject to safer recruitment requirements to ensure the safeguarding of children and young people. All positions will involve appropriate checks and clearances.
