Salary: Essex Schools Pay Scales Scale 7 (Actual salary £18821.50 / FTE £ 29777)
Hours Per Week: 26 (Plus Paid Overtime to Attend Governors Meetings)
Weeks Per Year: 41 (38 + 1 week of NPDs + 2 weeks during school closure)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a new member to our fantastic office team, as the Headteacher's Personal Assistant and Clerk to the Governors.

The successful candidate will:
· Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Demonstrate excellent IT understanding and skills and be willing to learn new systems
· Have excellent written and communication skills
· Demonstrate a positive and professional approach and the ability to use initiative, prioritise tasks and work calmly under pressure.
Be an effective team player
Understand confidentiality and demonstrate this in all aspects of their role.

Roles of responsibility will include, but not be limited to:
• Provide a personal assistant service for the Headteacher, including clerical, word processing, administration and reprographics support as required, booking events, courses and meetings as requested
• Assist the Headteacher with projects, manage and co-ordinate projects
• Maintain and update the school website, and make sure it is compliant
• Ensure school policies are written, reviewed and updated, according to an annual plan, and share policies with relevant stakeholders
• Ensure all aspects of GDPR, privacy and SARs are properly undertaken
• Build on the school's eco-friendly approaches, involving children in these where appropriate
• Compile and publish regular dates, bulletins and newsletters ensuring that information is up to date. Communicate with staff to collect relevant information
• Undertake general office duties such as communicating face-to-face, via telephone and email with all stakeholders, administering first aid, ensuring security of the school
• Provide advice to the governing body on governance, constitutional and procedural matters
• Provide effective administrative support to the governing body and its committees
• Ensure the governing body is properly constituted
• Manage information effectively in accordance with legal requirements.

Previous experience of working within a school office environment would be an advantage.
