Safeguarding Manager
Harlow College
Salary: £45,526 per annum

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and guide the College's Safeguarding & Well-being team, ensuring a proactive approach to student welfare.
- Act as DDSL when required, representing the college at inter-agency events and managing referrals to external agencies, including Social Care and Prevent.
- Coordinate and undertake safeguarding case work, ensuring the effective operation of the safeguarding team.
- Assist in updating and implementing the college's Safeguarding Policies and procedures.
- Manage safeguarding records, data, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee remedial actions required from inspection reports and audits related to safeguarding.
- Develop and implement mental health strategies to assist with Mental Health Risk Assessments.
- Provide training and support to college staff on safeguarding matters.
- Liaise with the Campus Manager on safeguarding issues and manage Criminal Conviction Risk Assessments, reporting to the Executive as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements and attend relevant meetings, such as Child Protection and Personal Education Plans.
- Ensure full compliance with the Prevent Agenda requirements.
- Participate in additional duties as required, including invigilation, open evenings, and enrolment duties.

Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Qualified to Level 3 in Safeguarding
- Mental Health 1st Aid trained
- Experience of managing and monitoring safeguarding in an education/training environment
- Experience of delivering safeguarding training to different audiences
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with external agencies and college departments
- Knowledge of current safeguarding legislation and best practices
- Education to level 2 standard including English and Maths
