Gosfield Community Primary School are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and committed learning support assistant to join our team.

The successful applicant will join our skilled team of LSAs and work under the direction of class teachers, the SENDCo and the SLT. The role will include supporting children during lessons, leading interventions, supporting the delivery of bespoke curriculums and making a positive impact on the children that they work with. The team of LSAs at Gosfield work flexibly across the school to support a range of children and learning requirements.

This role also includes Midday Assistant responsibilities and will include supporting all children to have a lunchtime full of fun.

This post is for 27.5 hours per week Scale 3 points 5-6, depending on experience. The working pattern will be 8.45am-3.00pm (inc 45 min break) Monday to Friday. This working pattern is subject to change. This role is term time only, the hourly rate is £12.18 per hour with an actual annual salary of £14,603.

The successful candidate should:

  • Have a recognised competence in literacy and numeracy
  • Be able to challenge and motivate all children to succeed
  • Be an adaptable team player with a good sense of humour
  • Be enthusiastic, passionate and open minded when working with students who have special educational needs
  • You will have empathy and can understand varying perspectives
  • Be self-motivated, resilient and able to use their own initiate

Gosfield Community Primary School is a small village school located in the beautiful countryside just outside Halstead. We are a 'good' school (2023) and are constantly striving to be the best we can be. We part of Attain Academy Partnership, based within Newlands Spring Primary School. Within our MAT we are linked with Newlands Springs, Rayne Primary School, Elm Hall, deVere Primary, Bocking Primary and Cressing Primary School.

We provide a cross curricular approach to learning and believe that children learn best through different experiences and through their own investigations; this learning is supported within a friendly, safe and secure environment.We are fortunate to have extensive grounds incorporating an area for forest school learning.

We benefit from a large network of supportive parents and volunteers, the FroGS (Friends of Gosfield Community Primary School) as well as enthusiastic governors that regularly visit the school.
