Job Purpose:
The School Administrator plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all school administration processes, providing vital support to staff, pupils and parents.
Reporting to:
Office Manager
Salary:
£12,515.25 per annum
Hours:
25 hours per week term time only plus 5 inset days and one additional day during each of the Christmas, Easter and summer holidays.
The hours are flexible over 3, 4 or 5 days to be discussed at interview.
Main Duties:
The post-holder will support all aspects of school administration as part of the school office team.
Administrative and Clerical Duties:
Assist in the overall administration of the school, working closely with the office team.
Provide administrative support to school staff, including teaching, site and kitchen teams.
Manage the school's mail, including electronic mailboxes.
Facilitate effective communication with parents through phone and email.
Prepare reports for the Headteacher, Proprietor, and Inspectors as needed.
Administer the school's clubs and activities, including Late Stay, handling sign-ups and coordinating with external providers.
Liaise with Friends of Widford Lodge (FOWL) to support school events and activities.
Coordinate charity events, working closely with partner organisations.
Arrange transportation for educational trips and sporting events.
Update lunch menus.
Produce and distribute the fortnightly school newsletter.
Financial Administration:
Update the school's payment system with details for trips, events and activities.
Communicate with parents regarding payments and manage collection via School Gateway.
Data Protection
Support the school's compliance with Data Protection legislation including maintaining records and policies, preparing for audits and completing Data Protection Impact Assessments.
Telephone and Reception:
Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, staff and pupils, both in-person and via phone.
First Aid
Provide first aid and administer medication to pupils in line with school policies.
Maintain accurate records of incidents and medication administration.
General Support:
Contribute to ensuring a safe and secure environment for pupils.
Commit to ongoing professional development.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the school's policies on child protection, health & safety, and other regulations.
Keep records of accidents and incidents.
Perform other duties as directed by the school's Proprietor, Headteacher or Office Manager.

Information about the School
At Widford Lodge we have around 220 pupils and have been instilling a love of learning in pupils between the ages of 2 ½ and 11 for over 85 years.
Today we are proud to provide a caring, inclusive and diverse environment for our school community, offering a broad and balanced academic curriculum in a stimulating setting full of opportunities in which children can thrive.
