Work Placement Officer (PAHT Hospital settings)

About the Team:

Our Work Placement Team is the driving force behind creating crucial links with industries, securing enriching work placements for our learners, and maximizing the benefits of these experiences. We foster collaboration between students, employers, and teaching staff to guarantee the best possible outcomes. All team members receive comprehensive initial and ongoing training to excel in their roles.

About the Role:

You will be responsible for the allocation of Harlow College students to work placements in both clinical and non-clinical settings within Princess Alexandra Hospital and other PAHT locations. You will ensure all pre, mid and post placement checks are completed to ensure students meet the requirements of both the training assessment criteria and any relevant hospital regulations. You will work closely with PAHT Placement Facilitators, Harlow College teaching staff and students to maintain the smooth running of work placements within the hospital trust.

Main duties:

· Negotiate and allocate Hospital based placements for both T Level and other College students, considering curriculum, clinical and organisational requirements

· Upload and maintain accurate placement details using the College work placement platform

· Ensure all required checks are completed and recorded including Health & Safety, DBS and immunisations

· Facilitate the documenting of all placement monitoring records

· Provide first line support for placement provider and student enquiries

What We Are Looking For:

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Proven track record of successfully engaging and developing relationships with employers, clients, or customers.
  • Experience in a customer service or client-centred environment with excellent telephone skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with a willingness to forge new contacts.
  • Experience in using technology, along with a willingness to understand new technology.
  • Ability to problem-solve, flexibility in managing work priorities, and a track record of meeting deadlines and targets.
  • Safeguarding Level 2 qualification or a willingness to work towards it.
  • Level 2 qualification in Maths and English
