KS1 Teaching Assistant and Midday Assistant
Required: As soon as possible
Initially for 25 hours a week, 08.30 -12.00 class Teaching Assistant and 12.00 -13.30 Midday Assistant, Monday - Friday, term time only
TA role 17.5 hrs Scale 3 points 5-6, FTE £23,500 - £23,893, actual salary £9,273 -£9,428 paid pro rata
MDA role 7.5 hrs Scale 2 points 3-4, FTE £22,737 - £23,114, actual salary £3,845 - £3,908 paid pro rata
We are looking to appoint to a joint role of Teaching Assistant and Midday Assistant.
The Teaching Assistant role involves supporting pupils with their learning, development and social emotional needs, in line with school policies and procedures.
We are looking for a person who:
● remains calm under pressure, is resilient and caring
● is able to provide an inclusive environment
● is enthusiastic about working with children
● is able to think on their feet and try new things
● is an effective communicator with pupils and staff
● is able to build and maintain effective relationships
● demonstrates excellent positive behaviour management techniques
● possesses good Literacy and Numeracy skills
The Midday Assistant post will involve working as part of a team of midday assistants (MDA's) ensuring the safety, welfare and behaviour of pupils during the midday break in accordance with school policy.
The successful candidate will:
● Be reliable, punctual and trustworthy
● Be proactive, hardworking and motivated
● Be flexible and adaptable with a can-do approach
Duties to include:
● Notify the Senior Midday Assistant of any concerns regarding an individual child or group of children.
● Take a lead in organising activities for the children as appropriate
● To administer basic first aid as necessary
● To ensure that all necessary records are completed
● Be responsible for the safe return of all pupils to the care of the teachers at the end of the lunch period.
