Support Officer
Salary: Thurrock Band C - Point 13 - 19
(£20,414.04 - £23,542.6 actual salary per annum)

32 hours 30 minutes per week
Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm, 30-minute unpaid lunch break
38 weeks per year, term time plus inset days

Start Date: November 2024

Arthur Bugler Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, organised, and dedicated Support Officer who will support the attendance and administrative function of the school.

The successful candidate will: 

  • Provide administrative support to the school, always ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.  
  • Initiate and carry out post registration truancy checks, liaising with staff, parents and pupils to monitor student punctuality.
  • Chase up reasons for pupil absences to liaise with the Education Welfare Team.
  • Assist with administrative tasks.
  • Organise school events.
  • Maintain the school calendar and weekly newsletters
  • Support the administration of school meals, including daily school dinner registers, holiday meal vouchers, completing weekly returns for school meals, free school meals, 'cool milk' and the fruit and vegetable calendar. 
  • Be the first point of contact for both telephone and face to face enquiries and take messages where appropriate.
