Lead LSAs take an influential role within our dedicated and dynamic Class Teams. Supporting teachers in developing each young person's transformational journey and leading the team in guiding each step along the way.

As a Lead LSA at Glenwood School, you will be a member of a daring and dynamic team and work closely with a diverse team of education and health professionals.

This is a challenging role which will be demanding in terms of taking on new ideas and ways of working. However, support will be there when you need it. We offer the chance to shape a role and to be involved with something very special.

Our School:

Glenwood is a brave special school for pupils aged 3-19 years and we currently provide for 228 young people. We moved into a superb building in September 2017 and we are developing a successful 20 bed residential provision, which is an educational intervention, as part of the school's holistic approach.

Main purpose:

  • Support the effective and positive work of the class team
  • Plan and teach the class during the teacher's PPA time
  • Support the teacher with and play an active and full role in decision making and class organisation
  • Work with the class teacher to ensure effective communication with parents
  • Take the lead role within the team and support LSAs with the smooth running of the class
  • Follow through on teachers planning if they are called on / required out of class for periods of time outside of PPA time
  • Highlight any training needs within the class
  • Support the class teacher with liaison and communication with school professionals and therapists.
  • This role included an additional two contracted hours outside of the school day each week to allow for professional discussion with the class teacher and will be required to be worked flexibly with the class teacher to best suit needs of the class.

Salary and working pattern information:

29.75 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9:00 to 3:15pm term time only (38 weeks) plus two hours to be worked in agreement with your class teacher

Local Government pay scale 5 points 8-11

Actual salary £16,889 to £17,764 (Full time equivalent £25,119 to £26,421) pay award pending
