Job Description
Cressing Primary School is part of Attain Academy Partnership whose family of schools work as a team to provide an outstanding education for all children in all schools, relevant to the world in which they live. We seek a positive and enthusiastic colleague to join our team. If you are a conscientious, personable individual with a good sense of humour, then you will enjoy being a member of our team. We are a friendly school, committed to doing the best for our children and staff. The role is for five mornings per week, 8.45 - 12.00 (this includes a 15-minute unpaid break). The salary is scale 3 within the points range 5-6.
You will predominantly, though not exclusively, assist the class teacher to help ensure that children make strong progress and maximise their level of attainment. Although not an exhaustive list, your duties require you to:
· Interact with, and support pupils, according to individual needs and skills
· Implement planned learning activities/teaching programmes as agreed with the teacher
· Establish positive relationships with supported pupils
· Support pupils with activities that develop literacy and numeracy skills
· To attend to pupils' personal needs including help with social, welfare, care and health matters
· Promote positive pupil behaviour in line with school policies and help keep pupils on task
· Assist the teacher and other staff in the implementation of care programmes
· To support learning by selecting appropriate resources/methods to facilitate agreed learning activities
· Liaise with staff and other relevant professionals and provide information about pupils as appropriate
· To supervise pupils for limited and specified periods including break-times when the postholder should facilitate games and activities
· Build a consistent and professional relationship with parents/carers
