Business Admin Apprentice


Salary: £6.40per hour, (based on the National Minimum Wage for an apprentice in their first year), increasing to £7.55 per hour from April 2025

Working hours: 35 hours per week Term time only plus inset days. 39 working weeks a year.Daily hours to be confirmed

Start date: ASAP

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Administration

Act as an ambassador for the Trust when greeting parents and other visitors, and act as a first point of reference when visitors arrive.
Provide secretarial, clerical and administrative support to the Head of School, Assistant Headteacher, Office Manager and other staff.
Administrative support for all areas of the Trust Academies
Demonstrate excellent professional relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
Perform receptionist duties throughout the school day, including acting as the first point of reference for children, parents, visitors and telephone enquiries
Offer helpful, friendly, approachable and professional service at all times and take appropriate action on own initiative, resolving minor matters, and referring more serious matters to appropriate members of staff
Check goods, return unwanted items and arrange servicing and maintenance as required
Maintain high standards when managing confidential information, complying with the school's data protection procedures and legal requirements at all times
To ensure school security and safeguarding arrangements are always complied with
Support with organisation of school trips, sports events and visits
The duties above are neither exclusive nor exhaustive and the post holder may be required within the
context of the job, skills and grade
General
Participate in the performance and development review process, taking personal responsibility for identification of learning, development and training opportunities, in discussion with line manager.
Comply with individual responsibilities, in accordance with the role, for health and safety in the workplace.
Ensure that all duties and services provided are in accordance with the School's Equal Opportunities Policy.
Share in the School's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, including understanding and adhering to the Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy.
Other duties as reasonably required by the Line Manager.

Person Specification

Technology- Good IT skills including the ability to use microsoft packagese.g.excel, word and powerpoint

Customer service- Commitment to first class customer service and an ability to behavecalmlyin a courteous and appropriate manner at all times

Working with People- The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and staff.

Personal Qualities

Understand the need for confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information
Reliable and ability to work flexibly and cooperatively as part of the team under the direction of the office manager
Confident yet sensitive and discreet in dealing with visitors to include parents and students.
Ability to work with staff at all levels and have good communication skills
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people

Essential Qualifications

English and Maths at GCSE level A-C (4-9)
Functional skills equivalent
