Trust SENDCO - Secondary Specialist

Salary: Teachers Main Scale/Upper Pay Scale

SEN-E Allowance - £5,284.00 per annum

FTE: 100%

Start Date: April 2025

Start date negotiable for the right candidate

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced and qualified SENDCO's to join our central team to support the SEND provision, and to build capacity across our Trust Secondary Schools. The successful candidate will be deployed to support schools by assisting existing SENDCOs with their caseloads and new intake, ensuring high standards of SEND provision. The successful candidate may also be required to provide cover in the absence of an existing SENDCO.

As a Trust SENDCO, you will:

  • Collaborate with SENDCOs across the Trust to implement and uphold effective SEND policies, reflecting the latest Codes of Practice.
  • Provide guidance and support in assessing students' needs and delivering Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Assist with setting targets, monitoring progress, and sharing updates with staff and parents.
  • Liaise with external agencies and report to senior leadership teams and governors on SEND work.
  • Act as the named contact for students with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Looked After Children within the assigned schools.
  • Ensure compliance with Trust-wide SEND standards and priorities.

Skills and Expertise Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and SENDCO qualification.
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality SEND provision within secondary schools.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills to coordinate support and provide professional guidance.
  • A clear understanding of statutory SEND frameworks and the ability to apply them effectively across settings.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with staff, parents, and external agencies.
