Stock C of E Primary School is a popular and vibrant village school with a team of committed, supportive and friendly staff who ensure that our children fulfil their potential, grow their talents and develop into confident and successful young people. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and flexible Learning Support Assistant to work in either Key Stage 1 or Key Stage 2, who can provide general and/or specific assistance to pupils under the guidance of the class teacher. The ideal candidate will be an excellent team player, but be confident in working independently using their own initiative.
Key Stage 1 - 28.33 hours per week (term time) - Monday to Friday (8.30am to 12.05pm & 1.05pm to 3.10pm)
Key Stage 2 - 28.75 hours per week (term time) - Monday to Friday (8.30am to 12.20pm & 1.10pm to 3.05pm)
Essential requirements:
- commitment to supporting and extending the children's learning
- a good understanding and knowledge of phonics (Key Stage 1)
- helping children develop their critical thinking skills (Key Stage 2)
- strong literacy and numeracy skills to be able to support all levels of the Key Stage 2 Curriculum (Key Stage 2)
- confident in making judgements about children's abilities and provide insightful and useful observations
- competent in maintaining appropriate and accurate records of assessment
- have creative ideas which can be contributed to the planning of activities
- excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- willingness to learn new skills and take on different tasks when required
- demonstrate high expectations of achievement for all children
- GCSE English and Maths or equivalent (grade C/level 5 or above)
