We are looking for a passionate, friendly, reliable and enthusiastic qualified level 2 Swimming teacher to join our team. We offer small group lessons, and believe that keeping groups small benefits the swimmers. We have a great team with lots of opportunities to develop and progress.

Working Hours:

Saturday mornings from 8.30 am for 3 to 3 1/2 hours. Term time only.

Requirements

Swim England or STA Level 2 swimming qualification
National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers & Coaches (NRASTC) qualification or lifesaving qualification
Confident with all aspects of teaching: nervous, additional needs, complete beginners and technique work
Responsibilities

Deliver/assist group lessons of children from preschool and Primary age
Ensure health and safety guidelines are adhered to
Committed, passionate, loyal and must have the ability to create a good rapport with parents / carers and children
Must be able to identify children's levels of ability and adapt activities and lessons as required
Run sessions effectively and efficiently, setting up and maintaining equipment and adhering to Newlands Spring Primary and Nursery School safeguarding policy
Provide feedback on swimmers when required
The successful applicant will have

An understanding of relevant health and safety legislation
Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to appropriately correct behaviour of pool users where necessary.
Confidence and an approachable nature and be at least 18 years of age.
We would expect the successful candidate to share our pride in the facilities and so the role would also include some light cleaning duties.
