We seek a committed and enthusiastic teacher to join our excellently resourced Science department at this successful and oversubscribed comprehensive school. The science department has a strong ethos of collaborative working and we are currently looking to recruit a new member of member to our successful and supportive team.

Principal Responsibilities
· To lead and manage the delivery of Chemistry at KS5 including the practical endorsement.

· To ensure the Chemistry curriculum at KS5 supports all staff to deliver the content.

· To support Coordinators and Head of Faculty to ensure the resources for KS3 and KS4 support all staff to deliver the Chemistry content.

· To ensure that there is appropriate monitoring of teaching and learning of Chemistry

· To raise standards of attainment and achievement in Chemistry

· To be accountable for student progress within Chemistry

· To monitor and support teachers and support staff in ensuring appropriate progress of individual children and teaching groups

· To develop the quality of teaching and learning, in accordance with the school policies

· To support the AAHT - Science and Engineering

· To support school and departmental policies on training and performance management

· To manage delegated financial resources and classroom facilities in the area they manage

· To participate in school planning as members of the school management team when appropriate

· To support school and department procedures for managing the overall progress, behaviour and development of students within the above areas

· To co-ordinate intervention strategies for underachieving students within Chemistry
