We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational teacher of Food who is committed to raising the achievement of our students. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-resourced specialist team. Design & Technology is taught to all at KS3 and is optional at KS4 and KS5. Uptake has risen significantly over recent years. You will be joining a relatively new team committed to improvement and passionate about creative, engaging teaching and learning. The ethos is one of high expectations. The team is open to change, new ideas and working collaboratively. Applications from NQTs or experienced teachers welcome. The department is ambitious and committed to the personal
development of all staff. There are excellent opportunities for high quality CPD.
The successful candidate will be able to teach one or more of the following additional specialisms:
- Engineering
- Graphic Design
- Fashion & Textiles
- Resistant Materials
The successful candidate should:
- Be an outstanding classroom practitioner
- Be innovative and able to turn ideas and opportunities into successful practice
- Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish strong relationships with all stakeholders and enthuse students
- Be enthusiastic, a team player, self-motivated and committed to further professional development
Harwich and Dovercourt High School is a 11-18 Academy with 1200 students serving the town and immediate area. It belongs to the North East Essex Education Partnership Trust of seven local independent academies committed to collegiate working. This is an attractive part of the country with excellent links to London and the Continent. We provide an exceptional CPD training programme.
