Would you like to work in a good/outstanding village school supporting children who need additional help? If so this could be the job you are looking for!
We are seeking to appoint a caring, supportive and exceptional LSA to work with children initially in EYFS and Key Stage 1. Experience is useful, but the drive and commitment to make a difference to children is more important. There is a requirement to have at least level C GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English and NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Teaching and Learning. This vacancy is a term time only and initially a one year fixed term contract for five days a week. The hours will be 8.45 to 3.15 each day.
In addition a flexible approach towards the following roles in school is essential:
• 1:1 support - working alongside a specific child supporting their learning during the school day, using an IEP, targets and resources to stimulate learning and progress, reporting to the teacher. A sensitive, caring and understanding approach is essential.
• Interventions - working regularly with a child or small group to master a skill or acquire knowledge, often following a programme but adapting to need where appropriate; assessing and reporting progress of children.
• Class-based - working at the direction of the teacher with small groups of children on focused learning activities. Using your positive, initiative-taking approach being able to challenge and motivate all children so pupils are stimulated and keen to succeed. Good communication skills and being an adaptable team player with a good sense of humour will always help!
