HLTA - Behaviour Support
Based at Thameside Primary School, Manor Road, Grays Essex, RM17 6EF
Required: Jan 2021
Salary: Band C, Point 13 - 16
(£17,033.72 - £18,427.50)
Actual salary, depending on experience
8:30am - 3:30pm Mon - Fri (30 minutes unpaid lunch break) - 32.5 hours per week, term time only
We are looking to employ a highly motivated and dedicated HLTA to manage behaviour across the school with excellent organisational skills and strategies to deal with children with challenging behaviour. It will be the responsibility of the successful candidate to provide support and address the social and educational needs of students who are underachieving, misbehaving or in need of behaviour intervention.
The successful candidate will
- Have already completed the HLTA qualification or NVQ level 4 or equivalent. (Desirable, but not essential)
- Previous experience of having worked with children in a school and have experience in managing behaviour
- Have a recognised competence in English and Maths (GCSE grade 4-9 or equivalent).
- Line manage Learning mentor and behaviour support staff
- Manage pastoral support plans or behaviour management plans
- Have experience of planning and manage intervention programmes to support children and families
- Have a positive attitude and will be someone who is loyal to our co-operative values.
- Have the ability to engage, inspire, motivate and build excellent relationships with children.
Main duties will be
- Support the delivery of quality learning and teaching and to help raise standards of achievement for all pupils
- Liaise with teaching staff and support staff to support effective transition of pupils into and out of "The Bridge" - providing support for classroom behaviour
- Train, support and develop staff within Behaviour Management
- Maintaining good discipline and adhering to the behaviour policy
- Promote the schools Equal Opportunities Policy and Diversity Strategy
