Passionate about making a difference? Our academy is on an exciting journey towards becoming a beacon of educational excellence. Do you have the passion, commitment and determination to make a difference?

We are looking for a Director of English to join our academy and help us continue delivering high quality education to our students. Our English department has a wealth of experience consisting of a KS3 Lead, KS4 Lead, KS5 Lead, Reading and Literacy Lead and Director of English. As a department we take pride in our commitment to excellence, teaching English up to KS5, following the AQA exam board curriculum for GCSE and OCR for A Level. All of our classrooms are equipped with modern facilities, including interactive whiteboards.

Our department's dedication to student success has not gone unnoticed. Ofsted recently commended our subject leaders for their meticulous selection of knowledge, "This knowledge builds well on pupils' prior learning ensuring a seamless progression of learning" from prior levels. Our teachers excel at breaking down complex concepts into manageable stages, providing clear explanations that facilitate student understanding.

Outside of the classroom we promote a love for English through various extra-curricular opportunities including the Jack Petchey 'Speak Out' Challenge, creative writing clubs and our weekly 'stretch and challenge' revision sessions for Year 11. Additionally, we believe in enriching our students' cultural experiences, regularly organising theatre trips that allow them to explore the world of literature and drama first hand.

Tendring Technology College (TTC) is a large, 11-19 mixed comprehensive academy. With over 1,800 young people on roll we strive to be a catalyst; aiming to create not only remarkable lives for our young people, but for our community. We are proud that we have students who gain the very highest academic and vocational outcomes and we believe passionately in promoting the arts, creativity and sporting success.

We want our pupils to be happy, enjoy being engaged in their learning and challenged in their thinking. TTC strives to ensure our pupils are fully prepared for the rapidly evolving future that lies ahead of them, standing shoulder to shoulder with the best in the world.
