SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to start as soon as possible
Hours: 31.25 hours per week term time plus inset days
08:30 - 15:15 hours Monday to Friday
Contract: Fixed term until 31st August 2024
Actual salary pro rata £15,120 - £15,674 (LG pay award pending)
Leigh Beck Junior School is looking to recruit a caring,dedicated, enthusiastic and committed SEN Learning Support Assistant with the knowledge, experience and skills to successfully support a child with an EHCP.
This role will require working 1:1 with a child, facilitating small groups, and within the whole class.
The ideal candidate will be expected to:
- Have experience in supporting SEN children in a primary school
- Have consistently high expectations
- Support Children by following programmes devised by the school and modify planning to suit the needs of the
child/children - Liaise with the class teacher and SENCO keeping detailed records of the child's progress towards targets
- Use their own initiative to support the child in making the best possible progress
- Has experience of the national curriculum and supporting the teaching and learning
- Be highly positive and supportive
- Remain calm and flexible, be caring, have patience
- have a good standard of English and Mathematics (minimum of GCSE Grade C or equivalent)
- Ideally hold a Level 2/3 qualification in teaching and learning
- support children by following programmes devised by the school
- Have a proactive approach to CPD and further professional development
