Starting ASAP/September 2024 - Previous applicants need not apply

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic HLTA, who is inspired by working as part of a team where inclusion and high expectations are priority.

HLTA qualification is not needed, however a willingness to undertake the qualification with our support would be needed. Experience taking the lead in a primary aged classroom is essential, preferably KS2 as this is where the position is based.

We are seeking a professional individual to support the work of teachers through covering classes; using prepared lessons for PPA time and teacher absence. Our HLTAs also support children with learning both in and outside the classroom, through our conferencing programme, which enables staff to extend learning and address misconceptions through 1:1 working with children under the direction of the class teacher. This role requires working across the primary age range but will be based in KS2 initially. It is important for the right person to adopt our inclusive school vision and values of Friendship, Courage and Confidence as well as the key values of TPP (Trauma Perceptive Practice) which are at the heart of everything we do at St Andrew's.

Our school can offer you:

· Friendly, well-behaved and enthusiastic children

· Large team of learning support staff

· Award winning inclusive school environment with learning mentors and child therapist to support children's needs.

· Specialist sports coach/forest schools' leaders

· The opportunity to work with a supportive, highly motivated and dedicated team of experienced staff in a well-resourced environment

· Supportive families and governors

We are looking for:

· A creative, engaging and inclusive HLTA

· High expectations for the children and yourself

· The ability to work in a team

· A positive and empathetic approach to wellbeing

· A professional commitment to improvement

· Someone who wants to be part of our lovely school community.

This post is initially a fixed term position for a year with the possibility to become permanent in the future.

Informal visits to the school are encouraged and warmly welcomed. We look forward to welcoming you.
